DJ Akademiks says the hip-hop media game has gotten dirty, and in a fiery clip, Akademiks unloaded on his biggest critics.
“They’ve put out the hip-hop media list four times now,” he said. “I’m batting a pretty good rate, twice at number one.” Akademiks said he has been quiet while watching others attempt to gain traction off his name but he says that time is over.
“I see and I hear what a bunch of y’all media [expletive] in hip-hop is doing, which is built purely out of jealousy for me and the platform,” Ak went on. “The gloves is off.”
The streamer then moved into more serious claims, alleging that people connected to him have been targeted.
“There’s people outside supposed Grand Wizard’s house taking random pictures of him,” he told his listeners. “There’s people harassing, you know, some of the people who do memes and stuff like that and who clip for us.”
Akademiks also said he has been told about a “dossier” linking him and other high-profile names to political motives.
“They have this theory going on that Drake is funded politically by MAGA,” he continued. “They also claim I’m funded politically and that’s why we’re popular.”
Ak says Charlamagne was the one to give him a heads up.
“Shout my man Charlamagne,” he said. “He gave me a call. He said, ‘Act, this was going around. I seen it.’ So what? Where’d it come from? ‘I don’t know,'” but then surprisingly, responded with a warning to The Breakfast Club host. “Don’t be the messenger,” he said. “You either with me against me.”
“Y’all ain’t stopping nothing.”
