Sean “Diddy” Combs is reportedly out of solitary confinement after an alleged fight with another inmate at the New Jersey federal prison where he is serving his sentence.
The Bad Boy Records founder, 56, had been placed in a special housing unit after an inmate allegedly “dissed” him and a confrontation followed, TMZ reported, citing sources with direct knowledge.
Prison staff reportedly stepped in and stopped the altercation.
According to the outlet, Diddy has since been returned to the general prison population.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons declined to confirm details about his housing status or the reported incident.
“For privacy, safety, and security reasons, we do not release information regarding the conditions of confinement for any inmate, including housing assignments, nor do we discuss whether a particular inmate is the subject of allegations, investigations, or sanctions,” a spokesperson said in a statement.
Diddy is currently scheduled for release in February 2028 after his date was moved up yet again.
The music mogul was convicted last year on two counts involving transportation to engage in prostitution under the Mann Act. He was acquitted of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges. He was sentenced to four years in federal prison.
Diddy could reduce his sentence by up to a year by completing the Bureau of Prisons’ Residential Drug Abuse Treatment Program. At his November 2025 sentencing, Diddy said he was “sober for the first time in 25 years” and blamed his past behavior on drug use.
“Prison will change you or kill you,” he wrote. “I choose to live.”
