Sean “Diddy” Combs’ own criminal trial could come back to haunt him in a separate lawsuit accusing his son, Christian “King” Combs, of a 2022 yacht assault.
Grace O’Marcaigh’s attorneys want Diddy restored as a defendant after a judge previously dismissed him from the case over questions about his connection to California. O’Marcaigh alleges King cornered her in a cinema room aboard the yacht, removed his clothes and attempted to force oral sex on her.
Her amended lawsuit now argues Diddy had a direct connection to the vessel through Janice Combs Music Holdings, the West Hollywood company that allegedly booked the charter. Court records cited in the filing identify the disgraced music mogul as the company’s CEO in November 2022.
Her lawyers are also relying on testimony from Diddy’s criminal trial. Former employees testified about preparing alleged “Wild King Nights” by arranging items including alcohol, candles, baby oil, condoms and incense.
O’Marcaigh’s team says those accounts support its argument that Diddy maintained close control over arrangements his staff made.
Diddy and King have repeatedly challenged the lawsuit, including arguing that the alleged incident occurred outside California’s jurisdiction.
Whether Diddy stays in the case will be considered at a September 4 hearing before U.S. District Judge Dolly Gee in Los Angeles.
