Sean “Diddy” Combs is taking legal action against Lil Rod, accusing the producer of stealing private documentary footage and selling it to Netflix for the 50 Cent-produced docuseries Sean Combs: The Reckoning.
In a countersuit filed Tuesday, Diddy claims Lil Rod secretly accessed computer drives containing footage intended for the mogul’s own documentary while the two were aboard a yacht in St. Barts in December 2022. According to the complaint, Lil Rod allegedly took the footage “without authorization” and later provided material that appeared in the four-part Netflix series released in December 2025.
Diddy is also accusing Lil Rod of making defamatory statements in the documentary and claims the producer has pursued a “campaign for revenge and to profit from Mr. Combs.”
Lil Rod originally sued Diddy for $30 million in February 2024, alleging he was drugged and sexually harassed while working on “The Love Album: Off the Grid.” He also claimed he witnessed drug use, firearms and a shooting while spending time around Diddy. Diddy has denied the allegations.
Lil Rod later repeated and expanded on some of his claims in the Netflix series.
The disgraced music mogul is seeking damages to be determined at trial and wants Lil Rod ordered to return the footage and destroy any remaining copies. The Bad Boy founder is currently serving a 50-month prison sentence following his 2025 conviction on prostitution-related charges.
