ASAP Rocky pulled the plug on a possible design deal after Allan Peters posted their private Instagram exchange, leaving the designer scrambling to explain himself.
Peters later admitted he “got excited” when Rocky contacted him about revising his logo and that he assumed the rapper would “take it as a compliment” when he shared the message with his followers… instead, the post killed the opportunity.
Rocky had approached Peters with a respectful inquiry about his rates and availability.
“Good morning Allan,” he wrote. “How much do u charge for brand logo revisions? Assuming you would be willing to do so I would be honored, love ur work, god bless.”
Peters quickly uploaded the message to Instagram and captioned it, “I have no words,” but that didn’t sit well with the Harlem rapper.
“THIS IS JUST DISTASTEFUL, WELL I GUESS WE WON’T BE WORKING, GOOD LUCK BUDDY,” he wrote beneath the post.
Peters apologized in a video and explained that he had acted out of excitement, not disrespect. But by then, Rocky had already rescinded the offer.
