Blood Clots & Amputation: Back in 2021, while coaching at Jackson State, Sanders suffered severe complications from blood clots in his femoral artery. The blockage severely restricted blood flow to his lower extremities, resulting in a 23-day ICU stay and the necessary amputation of his big toe and second toe on his left foot.
Bladder Cancer Battle: Sanders faced another severe health crisis when he was diagnosed with aggressive bladder cancer. He underwent a major surgical procedure to have his bladder removed and reconstructed using intestinal tissue, with doctors later declaring him cancer-free.
Through every surgery, setback, and recovery process, Sanders has maintained his trademark positivity, proving once again that nothing can keep Coach Prime down for long!
