Dana White laughed off Jake Paul’s new MMA power move, insisting the YouTuber-turned-promoter is nowhere close to threatening the UFC.
Paul recently merged his Most Valuable Promotions company with the PFL, placing a roster of more than 400 fighters under the MVP banner. White, however, said the deal has not changed how he views Paul or the rival promotion.
“Let’s take two organizations that don’t sell tickets and nobody watches and let’s merge them together and make a bigger company that won’t sell tickets and nobody will watch,” White joked.
Paul has repeatedly vowed to challenge the UFC’s dominance while campaigning for higher fighter pay and improved conditions. His move into MMA promotion began with a Netflix event featuring Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano, which reportedly drew 17 million viewers worldwide.
The PFL merger gives Paul access to fighters such as Usman Nurmagomedov and Dakota Ditcheva as he attempts to build a long-term alternative to the UFC.

White said he is now more concerned with competing against major sports and entertainment brands than other MMA companies.
“We’re on a whole other f–king stratosphere now,” he said. “Those guys aren’t my competition.”
Despite the insults, White ended with a lighter message for Paul and his new partners.
“Good luck to them all,” he said. “I wish them all the best.”
