Former BBC Radio 1 DJ Tim Westwood is now facing 17 criminal charges involving nine women after prosecutors authorized two additional sexual offense charges this week.
The Metropolitan Police announced on September 22 that Westwood, 68, has been charged with indecent assault over an alleged incident involving a girl who was 16 or 17 in 1991, as well as sexual assault involving an 18-year-old woman in 2004.
The new allegations come on top of 15 charges filed against Westwood in October 2025, including four counts of rape, nine counts of indecent assault and two counts of sexual assault involving seven women.
Westwood has previously pleaded not guilty to those charges. His trial on the original case is scheduled to begin January 25, 2027, at Southwark Crown Court.

He is expected to appear separately at Westminster Magistrates’ Court over the latest charges, though a date has not yet been announced.
“These new charges … relate to separate reports of non-recent offenses in 1991 and 2004 involving two additional women,” Deputy Chief Crown Prosecutor Catherine P Baccas said.
“The women who have made reports have placed their trust in us,” Detective Superintendent Andy Furphy added.
Westwood has denied allegations against him.
