Garcelle Beauvais’ broken friendship with Sutton Stracke may have pushed her to walk away from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, according to Bozoma “Boz” Saint John.
Boz shared her theory on a recent episode of The Jason Lee Show, though she confirmed she has not discussed Garcelle’s departure with her directly.
“I hadn’t talked to Garcelle,” Boz, 49, said. “I don’t know what the truth is.”
Still, she added, “I believe it was fundamentally the breakdown of her friendship with Sutton. I think that’s really what happened.”
Boz said life on the Bravo series can become draining because cast members reveal personal details while also dealing with criticism from viewers.
“This is an exhausting place to be because you’re giving everything,” she explained. “You’re telling everything, then people on the internet have opinions about you.”
She also suggested Garcelle may have felt especially hurt because the conflict involved someone she trusted.
“If you’re on the inner circle and then you get betrayed by somebody in the inner circle, that s–t hurts harder,” Boz said.
While discussing Sutton, Boz claimed alcohol had affected some of her friendships, including her bond with Garcelle. She said Sutton “used to be a sipper” but has since stopped drinking.
As for trusting her fellow Housewives, Boz said, “You just gotta keep your eyes open.”
She added, “I trust people to show me exactly who they are.”
Her theory isn’t far off from what fans had already deduced. Garcelle made it clear upon her exit that she felt extremely disappointed at the lack of support she felt from Sutton during her last reunion.
