Blueface was arrested Monday night in Los Angeles County after allegedly refusing to follow deputies’ orders during an investigation into a gun complaint that turned out to be a hoax.
The rapper was taken into custody in Santa Clarita on suspicion of delaying a law enforcement investigation, according to TMZ.
A representative for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office told the outlet that deputies responded to a business in Valencia at approximately 7:43 p.m. after someone reported a man pointing a gun at another person.
When authorities arrived, they detained several individuals, including Blueface. The rapper allegedly refused to comply with officers’ commands, resulting in his arrest.
Deputies soon determined that the gun report was a “swatting” incident, in which someone deliberately makes a false emergency call to send police to a location.
Blueface, whose real name is Johnathan Porter, was detained in August after he was released from prison earlier this year. He is also currently serving probation related to charges stemming from a 2022 shooting in Las Vegas.
He recently got engaged to Chrisean Rock, his longtime on-again, off-again girlfriend, and is yet to set a date.
