MYSTERY DEEPENS: Beauty Queen Kada Scott Missing After Threatening Calls — Family Says ‘She Had No Enemies’
A shocking mystery is unfolding in Philadelphia surrounding 23-year-old Miss USA hopeful Kada Scott, who vanished without a trace last weekend after reportedly receiving a series of harassing phone calls in the days before her disappearance.
Media Take Out has learned that investigators are combing through Kada’s phone records, social media, and surveillance footage in an effort to piece together what happened to the young woman — described by family as “kind, laid-back, and focused on her future.”
Last Seen Before Overnight Shift
Kada was last seen on October 4, when she left her family’s home to begin her 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. shift at The Terrace at Chestnut Hill, an assisted living facility in northwest Philadelphia.
When she failed to return home the next morning and didn’t answer calls or messages, her family immediately reported her missing. Police later found her car still parked at the facility, but her keys, phone, and iPad were gone.
Authorities searched the building and surrounding property but found no trace of the aspiring pageant queen.
Chilling Harassing Calls Before Disappearance
Philadelphia Police Captain John Craig confirmed that Kada had confided in friends that she’d been receiving “disturbing and harassing” phone calls from unknown numbers just days before she went missing.
“Days prior to her disappearance, Ms. Scott related to family and friends that unknown individuals had been harassing her via phone,” Craig told reporters.
Her father, Kevin Scott, said he was blindsided by the revelation. “I had no knowledge of any threatening calls,” he told The U.S. Sun. “My daughter didn’t have enemies — she’s just a regular, caring person.”
Kada’s mother, Kim Matthews, said her daughter mentioned the calls to friends but didn’t name anyone specific. “We’re trying to piece it together to find out who these people are,” she said.
Search Expands to 55-Acre Estate
On Friday, police searched the grounds of Awbury Arboretum, a sprawling 55-acre wooded estate just three miles from Kada’s job. The area was cordoned off as police combed through wooded trails, creeks, and gardens.
Deputy Commissioner Frank Vanore confirmed that the evidence gathered so far led investigators to that location. “We found some clothing items, but we don’t yet know if they’re related,” he said, describing the case as “troubling” and warning that there are signs Kada did not go missing voluntarily.
Pageant Dreams and a Promising Future
Kada, a Penn State student and current Miss Philadelphia USA, had been preparing to compete in the 2026 Miss Pennsylvania pageant. Friends and family say she was passionate about mental health advocacy and loved helping seniors at her new job — just two weeks into her position when she vanished.
Her father described her as quiet but driven: “She’s introverted, like me. No issues, no drama. She had goals and was doing well.”
Family Desperate for Answers
The Scott family is pleading with the public for help. “We just want our daughter to come home,” said her mother through tears. “This isn’t like her. She would never just disappear.”
Authorities are urging anyone with information about Kada Scott’s whereabouts to call or text Philadelphia Police at 215-686-TIPS (8477).
As the search widens and police continue to investigate the threatening calls, questions are mounting — who was targeting Kada, and did those calls lead to her disappearance?
For now, her family is holding on to hope — but fear is setting in that this Miss USA hopeful’s story could end in tragedy.
