Big Meech is calling on the rap community to speak up for Lil Durk before the embattled artist heads to trial.
The BMF co-founder used a recent Kick livestream to voice support for Durk and question why fewer artists appear to be publicly backing him as his federal case moves forward.
“Free Durk. Real n—a, real stand-up dude,” Meech said. “Ain’t enough muthaf–kas shouting him out. Free him, fast.”
Durk has been held without bond since October 2024 on federal murder-for-hire charges. Prosecutors allege he arranged a retaliatory attack aimed at Quando Rondo that instead killed Rondo’s cousin, Saviay’a Robinson.

The Chicago rapper has denied the claims, and he remains behind bars as he fights his case. Attorney Drew Findling alleged that law enforcement officers have privately approached him and offered “Free Durk” messages, though he did not identify them or share further details.
Durk’s defense is now fighting to keep newly filed racketeering allegations out of the scheduled proceedings. His lawyers argue that prosecutors waited until June to bring the charges despite possessing much of the related evidence earlier. They claim reviewing terabytes of additional material weeks before trial is “untenable” and could threaten Durk’s right to a speedy trial.
A hearing on the dispute has been requested for July 27, and Durk’s trial is scheduled to begin on August 27.
