Anthony Edwards Risks Losing $304 Million Fortune as Knee Surgery Rocks Timberwolves Star

Anthony Edwards will undergo right knee surgery Thursday, potentially sidelining the Minnesota Timberwolves superstar for up to two months as he navigates the aftermath of several child support and custody battles.

The 25-year-old guard is scheduled for an arthroscopic procedure on Oct. 29, ESPN reported. Edwards has had a tremendous start, averaging 33.3 points per game and scoring 47 against Cleveland on Monday.

The NBA star was seen grabbing his right knee during Sunday’s game against Toronto, raising concerns about an injury that troubled him throughout last season.

Away from basketball, Edwards has also been dealing with legal matters involving his children. His dispute with Ayesha Howard, the mother of his daughter Aubri, made headlines after the former couple disagreed over how to determine child support.

Edwards agreed to give Howard temporary sole custody in April 2025. In July 2026, a Georgia judge ordered him to pay $3,222 per month. Separately, the court ordered Edwards to pay $12,500 per month for his son Amir with Daja Desroches.

Missing two months would likely leave him short of the NBA’s 65-game requirement for postseason honors, potentially costing him eligibility for a four-year, $304 million supermax extension.
