Andy Cohen is weighing in on Jill Zarin’s recent controversy, and he thinks it echoes another Housewives moment that spiraled fast and didn’t need to happen.
On a recent episode of SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live, the Bravo exec compared Zarin’s now-infamous comments about Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show to Jennifer Aydin’s viral Jersey Mike’s blowup in 2025. In both cases, Cohen said, the fallout stemmed from choices that could have been avoided entirely.
“It was an unintentional foul,” Cohen said on air. “An unforced error.”
Zarin, 62, was dropped from E!’s upcoming series The Golden Life after posting a video criticizing the halftime performance, including remarks about race that sparked immediate backlash. Cohen admitted he was struck by how familiar the situation felt.
“As one of the Jersey housewives pointed out, not since Jennifer Aydin at Jersey Mike’s, when she picked up the phone to start recording,” Cohen said, noting that neither incident required public commentary in the first place. “They didn’t have to weigh in.”
Zarin later responded to her firing by saying, “They didn’t even give me a chance. I took it down right away. People make mistakes. I’m human.”
Despite the controversy, The Golden Life is still moving forward with several Real Housewives of New York City veterans, though without Zarin in the cast.
