Bravo executive Andy Cohen has opened up about his conversation with Garcelle Beauvais after abruptly exiting the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion filming. He says the actress was not in a “good place.”

Garcelle announced her exit from the show this week, surprising fans but once the show trailer dropped, fans realized that the reality star decided to walk away after none of her cast mates had her back.

“[Garcelle] had a reunion that you will see play out, and I’m not gonna, you’ll just watch it, but she didn’t, it was not, she ended in a not good place, and she and I were texting and she kept saying, ‘I will speak to you in New York,'” Andy shared on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live.

Cohen says they did meet up in New York.

“We had a serious conversation before she was on [WWHL],” he continued. “We got together about an hour before her live show, and she and I [were] really hashing things out, and she let me into where her head was at, and there was not only stuff with the show, but she’s got, the kids are entering their senior year, and I really respect that fact that she, really, it was one of the most real conversations that it ended where it ended, but I would say it ended with her saying, ‘I’ve got to choose kind of my life.'”

Cohen says the door was left open for discussion about her returning to the show, but ultimately, she decided to leave. Blogger Kempire shared behind-the-scenes tea this week, claiming that Garcelle felt “blindsided” by newbie Bozoma Saint John and that she felt let down that her longtime friend, Sutton Stracke, did not have her back.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Reunion airs on Bravo on April 1st and on Peacock the following day.
