Andy Cohen declined to confirm that Candiace Dillard-Bassett voluntarily left The Real Housewives of Potomac, weeks after Gizelle Bryant reignited the controversy by claiming her former costar was fired.
At Bravo Fan Fest in Charleston, Andy was asked how many Housewives had genuinely chosen to walk away from their franchises. He acknowledged there had “been a few” and identified Caroline Manzo as one example.
But when Candiace’s name came up, Andy just nodded before repeating his earlier response.

The exchange follows Gizelle’s remark in a recent Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip episode.
“Listen, haven’t seen Candiace since she got fired,” Gizelle told a producer, who replied, “Gotcha.”
Candiace appeared unwilling to let that version of events stand.
After a fan complimented her on X, she wrote, “Best dressed and balking at revisionist history.”
The singer previously denied being fired after announcing her exit from RHOP in March 2024.
Former RHOP producer Patrick McDonald also weighed in.
“Hi. Former RHOP producer here that worked on Candiace’s final 2 seasons. [waving emoji]” he wrote. “It’s so interesting that Andy Cohen would imply that Candiace’s exit was entirely Bravo’s idea when that could not be further from the truth.”
Patrick continued, “During @therealcandiace’s final season, when we were on a cast trip in the Dominican Republic, I vividly remember staying up and talking to Candiace until 5 o’clock in the morning as she was weighing the pros & cons about whether or not she wanted to return to the show.”
