Andrew Tate shocked his fans when he lost his boxing match against a reality star over the weekend, but he says he’s not disappointed in himself.
. “People forget what I’ve been through,” said Andrew Tate after his defeat to Misfits heavyweight champion Chase DeMoor. “Legal battles, jail time, being locked in a cell in Romania, and I still had the courage to walk back into a ring at 40.”
Tate has spent recent years entangled in high-profile legal cases and periods of detention in Romania, experiences he referenced repeatedly when explaining his mindset. “After sitting in a jail cell, after everything they tried to do to me, I proved I’m not broken,” he said. “I showed up.”
The influencer claimed he felt sharp early. “I believe I won the first rounds,” Tate said, before admitting DeMoor’s roughly 20-kilo weight advantage eventually wore him down. Even so, he stressed accountability. “I have no excuses. I trained properly. I accept the outcome.”
He continued, “Never give up, never retreat, never surrender.” He added, “The only true failure would have been being too afraid to fight. I’m not afraid to lose. I’m afraid to not try.”
He praised DeMoor as a “true champion” with “tremendous heart and grit,” and hinted at unfinished business. “I’d fight him again tomorrow,” Tate said. “One hundred percent belief.”
The bout marked Tate’s boxing debut, while DeMoor entered with six professional wins already logged this year.
