Two-time Emmy Award winning actor Andre Braugher has died. The star of hit tv series, including Homicide: Life on the Street, Men of a Certain Age and Brooklyn Nine-Nine was 61. Andre’s first film role came alongside Matthew Broderick and Denzel Washington in the Ed Zwick-directed Glory. He died on Monday after a brief illness.

It’s not clear if those issues were associated with his demise.
Andre was an American actor, best known for his roles as Detective Frank Pembleton in the police drama series Homicide: Life on the Street (1993–1999), used car salesman Owen Thoreau Jr. in the comedy-drama series Men of a Certain Age (2009–2011), and Captain Raymond Holt in the police comedy series Brooklyn Nine-Nine (2013–2021).

He had supporting roles in films such as Glory (1989), Primal Fear (1996), City of Angels (1998), Frequency (2000), Duets (2000), Poseidon (2006), The Mist (2007), Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007), Salt (2010), The Gambler (2014), and She Said (2022). Braugher also appeared in numerous series such as Thief, The Good Fight, BoJack Horseman, House, and New Girl.
