Trey Songz will not spend time behind bars after resolving a New York City case tied to an alleged nightclub assault.
The R&B singer was sentenced Wednesday to one year of conditional discharge for second-degree harassment, a non-criminal violation, according to Billboard. As long as Trey Songz follows the court’s terms for the next 365 days, he will not face jail or probation.
The case stemmed from an alleged December 4 confrontation at Dramma Night Club in Times Square. Manhattan prosecutors accused Trey Songz of striking an employee in the face and initially charged him with harassment and misdemeanor attempted assault, the New York Post reported.
After completing mental health treatment and meeting court-ordered conditions, Songz was permitted to withdraw an earlier misdemeanor plea and remain convicted only of the harassment violation, according to Billboard.
A separate case involving alleged property damage at Mira restaurant and hookah lounge also ended without a felony conviction. Trey Songz had been accused of damaging about $1,500 worth of property, including hookahs, DJ equipment and sofas. The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office later dropped the felony second-degree mischief charge.
Attorney Mitch Schuster said the defense was “very pleased with this resolution,” adding that its investigation found “significant discrepancies” in the felony allegations. Schuster said the singer “did not cause any of the alleged damage” and that prosecutors agreed to dismiss the case in January 2026.
