J. Cole is pushing back after Cam’ron filed a $500,000 lawsuit accusing him of backing out of an agreement to collaborate.
The legal dispute centers on Cam’ron’s appearance on Cole’s track “Ready ’24,” which appears on the rapper’s 2024 mixtape Might Delete Later. Cam’ron claims he agreed to the feature only after Cole promised to return the favor with a collaboration or an appearance on Cam’s podcast with Mase, It Is What It Is.
In new court documents, J. Cole and his company, Cole World Inc., deny those claims and are asking for the case to be dismissed with prejudice. “There are no facts alleged,” the filing states, adding that the defendants “deny that Plaintiff is entitled to any of the relief requested.”
The motion also argues that Cam’ron is not a co-owner or joint author of the song and that he approved its release.

Cam’ron is seeking damages and compensation tied to his contribution to the track.
Cam’ron previously shared his side of the story on Talk With Flee, saying the issue comes down to principle.
“Being a man is keeping your word,” he said, claiming Cole agreed multiple times to appear on the podcast before backing out due to timing concerns.
