Yung Filly was convicted of two assault offenses after a jury found he injured a 20-year-old fan by biting her during a hotel encounter in Perth, Australia.
The British rapper and YouTube personality was acquitted of three sexual penetration charges, one count of impeding the woman’s breathing and another assault charge following an eight-day trial.
Jurors were unable to reach verdicts on three additional sexual penetration counts. Prosecutors may decide whether to pursue a retrial when the case returns to court on August 21. Yung Filly remains on bail. The woman told the court she met Yung Filly after his September 2024 performance and had once viewed him as her “idol” and imagined him as her “future husband.”
Both sides agreed that the pair initially had consensual sex at his hotel. Prosecutors alleged the encounter became violent after she noticed his phone directed toward her and asked whether he was recording.
Yung Filly admitted biting the woman without her consent but described the marks as “love bites.” He testified that the encounter had been “great” and said she had reacted “in a good way.”
Photos shown to jurors documented bruising on the woman’s face and neck, along with a bite wound on her breast.
The trial interrupted Yung Filly’s entertainment career, which includes BBC television appearances and millions of followers across social media.
