Antonio “Obama” Sumlin pleaded guilty to conspiracy to violate Georgia’s RICO Act, making him the 6th member of the alleged gang to accept a plea deal.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, he also pleaded guilty to participation in criminal street gang activity and two counts of conspiracy to commit a crime (murder). Prosecutors alleged co-defendant Cordarius Dorsey ordered Sumlin to kill an alleged gang member who allegedly disrespected him. Dorsey was sentenced to life without for the 2019 murder of Sulaiman Jalloh.
Sumlin was sentenced to 15 years of probation as part of the agreement with the state, Sumlin is forbidden from contacting any of his co-defendants and must adhere to a curfew between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., unless he is attending school, going to work, or has a medical emergency.
“As part of this particular plea and this particular case, you understand that you need to abide in full by each of the terms of your negotiated agreement between you and the State. You also understand if you fail to do so that would constitute a violation of your agreement. You also agree that you will testify truthfully about all matters in regards to this case,” said Fulton County Superior Court Chief Judge Ural Glanville.
Sumlin agreed.
