In court, Johnson’s co-defendant, Cornelius Smith, testified in court, admitting that he and Johnson killed Young Dolph after being hired by Anthony “Big Jook” Mims, the brother of Memphis rapper Yo Gotti. Smith claimed Big Jook offered to pay $100,000 … but only received $800 as payment to date.
Two more defendants, Hernandez Govan, pleaded not guilty to murder and conspiracy charges, and Jermarcus Johnson, pleaded guilty last year to three counts of accessory after the fact.
Carlissa Brown, Young Dolph’s sister, celebrated the verdict.
“We ask you to remember the man who enjoyed being a father and spending time with his family,” she said to WREG news.
