Shundale Barnett, one of the men arrested in connection with the murder of Memphis rapper Young Dolph, was released from a Texas county jail. According to the sheriff’s office, Barnett bonded out of the Tarrant County Jail in Fort Worth on Christmas Eve.
Barnett was charged with being an accessory after the fact to first-degree murder and initially, he was mistakenly released from custody on January 21 instead of being extradited to Memphis. He was arrested as a passenger in the car of 23-year-old Justin Johnson, also a suspect. They were pulled over on January 11 at a truck stop in Brazil, Indiana.
Johnson and Cornelius Smith, 32, were both booked on charges of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, employment of a firearm, and theft of property over $10,000. Both men pleaded not guilty.
