The 2018 felony robbery case against YG was dismissed right before jury selection after the rapper reportedly settled the matter out of court.
YG’s attorney, Joe Tacopina released a statement to TMZ saying, “Justice was served expeditiously. We would’ve had the same result if the case went to trial.”
charged with felony robbery for allegedly stealing a man’s chain at The Cosmopolitan Hotel and casino in Las Vegas.
The robbery allegedly took place in May 2018. The victim sued YG for $250,000 for assault, battery, and theft. He said YG ordered his crew to assault him and then stole a diamond pendant.
In January, the L.A. District Attorney’s Office declined to file charges against the rapper in a 2020 robbery case.
“Not enough evidence of what defendant did to aid and abet the crime. Presence during the crime alone is not sufficient,” the D.A.’s Office wrote.
“This arrest is one that caught YG completely off guard because there is no truth to them. YG has no idea what investigators are talking about and we have not been provided with any details…we are learning about this case through the media. … The motives here are pretty clear,” his attorney said.
