Wyclef Jean has given an update on his Fugees group member Pras who is facing a long stretch behind bars.
In April, Pras was found guilty of political conspiracy and now faces up to 20 years in prison. The rapper was found guilty on 10 counts, including conspiracy to defraud the US, witness tampering and acting as an unregistered agent of a foreign government.
Pras said he would appeal the verdict.
“We are extremely disappointed in that result but are very, very confident in the ultimate outcome of this case,” his attorney, David Kenner, told reporters. “If we do move to a sentencing hearing I remain very confident we will certainly appeal this case. This is not over.”
“What I could definitely tell you about Pras, he’s def in good spirits. 100 percent in good spirits,” Wyclef told TMZ.
TMZ then asked the rapper whether he there is a Fugees biopic in the works. “You know what’s crazy about the Fugees story? We would love to do a biopic but it’s still ongoing right now, [but] there’s still so much to talk about,” said Clef.
