Woman Convicted in Julio Foolio Killing Gets 15 Years Behind Bars!

Lyndon Abioye |

A Tampa judge has sentenced her to 15 years in prison after her manslaughter conviction in the killing of rapper Foolio.

Andrews returned to court on Friday, May 22, where Judge Kimberly Fernandez denied a defense motion to challenge the conviction before sentencing. The judge said that she reviewed the defense’s arguments about the prior handling of the case and found no reason to change course.

“I’m going to place on the record that I would not have ruled any differently,” the judge said.

Foolio’s mother, Sandrikas Mays, spoke before the court during sentencing.

“My son was hunted, followed and ultimately murdered,” Mays said in court. She added, “My son’s life mattered. He was not disposable.”

Andrews is one of several people convicted in connection with the case. Sean Gathright, Isaiah Chance, Rashad Murphy, and Davion Murphy were found guilty by a jury on May 8.

Jurors declined to recommend the death penalty for the men, who are due back in court for sentencing on June 22.
