Will Smith’s Ex-Friend Wants Judge to Force Jada Pinkett Smith to Testify!

Jada Pinkett Smith is being asked to sit for another deposition in a lawsuit brought by Will Smith’s former friend, Bilaal Salaam.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Salaam has asked a judge to order the actress to appear for questioning within 30 days after he says she did not show up for a May 20 deposition.

Salaam is suing Pinkett Smith and wants to question her about communications involving him, including any communications he alleges may have authorized threats against him.

Salaam has claimed that Pinkett Smith became upset after he refused to help Will following the 2022 Oscars, where the actor slapped Chris Rock onstage after a joke about Pinkett Smith. He also alleges that third parties threatened him after learning he planned to write a memoir that would include the Smith family.

Pinkett Smith has denied the allegations and has already succeeded in having most of Salaam’s lawsuit dismissed.

In his latest filing, Salaam says her testimony could help him prove what remains of his case, but Pinkett Smith’s legal team disagrees with the need for a full deposition, arguing in a letter included with the filing that she already answered questions in a separate legal matter brought by Salaam.

Because the lawsuits involve many of the same issues, her team wants any further questioning limited to one hour.

A judge has not yet ruled on Salaam’s request.
