Erika Jayne is opening up about the calm she has found in her new relationship with boyfriend John McPhee, admitting that the romance feels intentionally different from anything she has experienced before.
Speaking with Us Weekly, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star said the connection has brought a sense of peace she desperately needed.
Erika explained that she met John through Spencer Pratt at a music festival after recognizing him from podcasts. “I was like, ‘That’s that guy. I’m gonna walk up and say hello,’ and that’s exactly what I did,” she said, laughing that she had to make the first move. Meeting him while she was “in full costume” may have been a shock, but she joked that it saved surprises for later.
She described John as confident, intelligent, and grounding.
“He makes me feel really good and calm and peaceful,” Erika shared. She added that he lives outside Los Angeles, which she believes has been essential. “He’s a normal, regular person, and I think I needed space from all of this. It’s been a lot for the last few years.”
Erika also explained why she has kept the relationship private from the cast. “Because I like him,” she said. “I know how bad these things are for your relationship. I would like to keep that relationship special and over here if I could.”
