Real Housewives of Potomac star Dr. Wendy Osefo says she is in shock after castmate Karen Huger was sentenced to jail time following last year’s DUI arrest.
“My jaw dropped,” Wendy told PEOPLE. “I couldn’t believe it. At the end of the day, we may have our differences, but I always wish her well, and I’m just keeping her in prayer, 100%.”
The Grande Dame was sentenced to two years in jail, with one year suspended on Wednesday. She will also have to pay $2,900 in total fines and cannot drive a car for one year after her release.
Karen has 30 days if she wishes to appeal the decision.
Karen was also convicted of negligent driving, failure to control her vehicle’s speed to avoid a collision and failure to notify authorities of a change in address but was acquitted of reckless driving.
Wendy thinks that the cast should continue filming the next season without her.
. “With this group, we have found a way to navigate with her presence and without her presence,” she added. “I definitely wish her well.”
