Vin Diesel has denied allegations made by the former assistant that he sexually assaulted and then fired her in 2010.
“Let me be very clear: Vin Diesel categorically denies this claim in its entirety,” attorney Bryan Freedman said in a statement obtained by MTO News. “This is the first he has ever heard about this more than 13-year-old claim made by a purportedly 9-day employee. There is clear evidence which completely refutes these outlandish allegations.”
The woman, Asta Jonasson alleges Diesel forced himself onto her in a hotel suite in Atlanta in 2010. She said after he forced her onto his bed and when she tried to get away he groped her breasts and kissed her chest. She says the actor then tried to pull her underwear down and she ran to the bathroom screaming.
Jonasson says she was forced to touch his genitals and that he masturbated himself. Hours later, she was fired.
“Employers must protect and defend people when they speak up about sexual assault and harassment,” Jonasson’s attorney, Claire-Lise Kutlay, said in a statement. “We hope Ms. Jonasson’s courageous decision to come forward helps create lasting change and empowers other survivors.”
