Vanderpump Rules star Tom Sandoval is reportedly walking away from reality television for good and is reportedly uninterested in joining the show’s popular spinoff series, The Valley.
“Tom is focusing on his music career; he is less interested in reality TV right now,” an insider told The U.S. Sun. “He wants to launch another tour after his AGT run is over and capitalize on that success. He is overwhelmed, in the best way, with the response to his AGT audition and feels seen for the first time as a musician.”
“[He] has very little interest in going on The Valley … [and wants to] use this opportunity to pivot more into music and chase those dreams.”
Tom faced heavy backlash after he was caught cheating on his then-longtime girlfriend, Ariana Madix, with her close friend, Raquel Leviss. Raquel walked away from the show and ended their affair and Ariana dumped Tom after the scandal. His businesses also suffered and many members of the cast turned their backs on him.
Vanderpump Rules stars Scheana Shay, Lala Kent and Tom Schwartz were all featured on season two, which drew major criticism from fans but speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, producer Alex Baskin addressed the backlash.
“Well, I think it’s a super passionate fanbase, and it is amazing to me that we’re even a little bit removed from season 11 of Vanderpump Rules and those passions haven’t cooled, and so [we] certainly take note of that. I wouldn’t say that there’s any consensus, I would say that there’s a lot of heated thoughts,” said Baskin. “But I think part of what is fun about these series’ is that there’s something for everyone, and I think there’s a lot of different points of view, and I think obviously those three are very much a part of this group, just naturally, and they’re very comfortable living their lives in front of the cameras. They’re used to it, they’ve been doing it for a long time.”
