Jax Taylor, star of Vanderpump Rules and Bravo’s new reality series, The Valley, has revealed that he has battled with a cocaine addiction form more than 20 years.
“I have substance issues — primarily with cocaine. It’s hard to say out loud. I’ve been dealing with this on and off since I was 23 and now I’m 45,” Jax said on the Hot Mic podcast.
Jax recently headed to rehab after his relationship with his wife and mother of his son, Brittany Cartwright, came to an end.
During his time on Vanderpump Rules, there was some speculation as to whether Jax had dabbled in hard drugs due to some of his unpredictable behavior on the show.
“There was times where I would stop doing it but then there were times where I’d go heavy on it. I just want to let people know this is a really, really tough disease and it’s a really tough sickness,” Jax continued. “I’ve never said this in my life. So to come out and say that I have an addiction [and] that I have a sickness that I have to work on the rest of my life is a really big deal for me. Obviously, it’s a huge weight lifted off my shoulders.”
Jax says he is now committed to clean living.
