Last night, CNN anchor Van Jones was the keynote speaker for the UJA – Federation of New York. The UJA (United Jewish Appeal -Federation of Jewish Philanthropies) is a non profit organization with the mission of supporting Jewish New Yorkers – caring for their needs and shaping Jewish culture.

Van in his speech talked about his “Jewish Godmother” and the history of Black Americans and Jewish Americans working together to end racism, but he didn’t stop there. He decided to drag the Black community for Kanye “Ye” West’s recent antisemitic rants.

He also apologized to the Jewish community for the behavior of African Americans. Saying he was apologizing “for the silence of my community,” allowing “an African American icon praising Hitler and Nazis, and we act like we don’t know where that hatred came from.”

The he said “the silence is over.” Black twitter is now ablaze, as Van Jones publicly held the black community responsible for Ye’s antisemitic comments and while seemingly absolving the media and corporate America for Ye’s offensive many years prior, much of which were directed towards African Americans.
