A federal judge is warning Tyrone Blackburn that more sanctions could be coming after the attorney missed yet another court deadline in his effort to quit Terrance “T.A.” Dixon’s case against Fat Joe.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Jennifer E. Willis said Blackburn failed to correct and resubmit his withdrawal request by August 17.
“If Blackburn continues to shirk his obligations to the Court and to his client, the Court will consider further sanctions,” Willis wrote, adding that additional delays “will not be tolerated.”
The controversial attorney wants to stop representing Dixon because he says a conflict has developed and he no longer feels safe continuing in the case.
He previously described how a 2025 attempt to serve him with papers connected to Fat Joe’s lawsuit affected his family.
“I watched my mother’s face when she heard the knock at the door, and I watched the tears run down her face,” Blackburn wrote in a July declaration.
Fat Joe filed his lawsuit against Blackburn and Dixon in April 2025, alleging defamation and emotional distress. The rapper has denied the allegations, calling them “completely false.”
Blackburn has faced previous sanctions and disciplinary scrutiny connected to his conduct in court proceedings.
Willis has now given him until August 26 to submit corrected papers and serve Dixon before a September 30 conference.
