Tyrese says he’s through with social media and seemingly posted his last Instagram post, ending his social media stint with a lengthy rant.

The singer went viral after he broke down on tears on The Breakfast Club. During the interview, Tyrese said it was important to see Black men cry, and that tears are not showing weakness.

“I’m officially retired from social media. I’m gonna go dark. I’m gonna pray I’m gonna turn my comments off because I don’t want to be reminded of this very nasty and unbearable narrative that REAL MEN don’t cry,” he wrote.

“And if and when a man has a child on the way with that beautiful woman or fiancé or wife, and she ultimately has a miscarriage [ I thank God I’ve never experienced this ] the only person who is depressed sad or even suicidal over that loss is NOT JUST the woman.”

The singer went on to call out “toxic masculinity” and added that he is an alpha male who is being mocked for being so.

The singer’s break from Instagram only lasted a few hours. He is back to posting regularly.
