Tyrese Claims He Would Have Did ‘Pony’ Better Than Ginuwine

Lyndon Abioye |

Ginuwine’s “Pony” was one of the biggest hits of the 90s, but according to Tyrese, he would have outdone the 1996 single’s success had he been given the track.

“This what [happens] when chocolate does ‘Pony’ This is the way Ginuwine shoulda did it,” Tyrese said while dancing to the track in a Death Row Records jacket.

“If I was around and Timbaland had pressed play on me with that song ‘Pony,’ I woulda definitely, definitely did way better on the song and the video than Ginuwine. Dancing is my s–t. I stopped dancing, I was like, ‘Imma gon let ’em have it. Imma gon let ’em have that,'” he continued.

The video was lighthearted, even as Tyrese claimed he was “coming for Ginuwine’s spot.”

Before he showed off his smooth moves, Tyrese made sure to mention R&B supergroup TGT’s (Tank, Ginuwine & Tyrese) upcoming show this weekend.

“We gon be sold out. One thing for sure, we gon have a good motherf–king time,” he said.

TGT will reunite onstage this Friday, Sept. 13, at the VyStar Amphitheater in Stockbridge, Georgia with R&B favorite Lyfe Jennings also joining the bill. The group also has another show set for Nov. 22 in California.
