Singer and actor Tyrese has been arrested after failing to pay his amended child support payments to his ex-wife, Samantha Lee.
Judge Kevin Farmer ordered that the star be held in contempt of court and ordered that he pay $73,000 to avoid jail time. A judge previously increased his payments from $2,200 per month to $10,690 per month. He is seeking help from the media.
In Fulton County Court, Tyrese reportedly refused to make the payments to his ex, and was escorted out of the courtroom and into a cell in handcuffs.
He is currently arranging for the money to be paid, which includes $7,500 in legal fees.

Last month, the singer claimed that Samantha was trying to have the payments increased to $40,000 based on his earnings, but he maintains that he cannot afford to make the payments.
The actor says Samantha’s attorneys wrote to him requesting that he send over his bank statements and tax returns. They are scrutinizing all of his movies and concerts to work out exactly how much he is earning so that she can reevaluate his finances to increase payments despite him signing a prenup.
The singer is appealing to have Judge Farmer removed from the claim, accusing the judge of bias and of making illegal judgments against him.
