In a recent interview, Tyrese said that he has never watched the first Fast & Furious movie even though he’s one of the franchise’s biggest stars.
Tyrese claims he was told not to by legendary director, John Singleton.
“I’ve never seen part one to this day. And that’s no disrespect. So what happened was, and I’m a tell you why, because John Singleton gave me that advice. So fast forward, Baby Boy happens, Vin [Diesel] and the studio at the time got heavy in negotiations and they could not make a deal for Vin and the director to come back and do part two,” he told Big Boy.
“So then that’s when the opportunity for me to slide in and do 2 Fast 2 Furious opposite Paul Walker presented itself. And I’m not gon’ mention what they were negotiating, but it was a real number [Vin] went from that number trying to get to that number and the studio and him just fell apart and then the opportunity for me to slide into that happened.”
