Chicago’s governor is suing to keep Donald Trump and his National Guard out of the metropolis, but according to Trump, Black women are eager for him to visit the Windy City.
“Chicago is a mess, you have an incompetent mayor, grossly incompetent,” Trump said from the Oval Office. “We’ll straighten that one out, probably next. That will probably be our next one after this.”
He continued, “And the people in Chicago…are screaming for us to come. They’re wearing red hats, just like this one. African American ladies, beautiful ladies, are saying, ‘Please President Trump, come to Chicago.'”
Yesterday, a federal judge in Illinois issued a temporary restraining order barring the Trump administration’s deployment of National Guard troops.
In her decision, Judge April M. Perry noted that “I have seen no credible evidence that there is a danger of a rebellion in the state of Illinois.”
“’I love the smell of deportations in the morning,’” Trump wrote on his Truth Social account last month. “Chicago about to find out why it’s called the Department of WAR.”
Trump also referred to Chicago a “hellhole,” despite crime rates dropping in the city.
