President Donald Trump weighed in this week after newly released court documents tied to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein caused former president Bill Clinton to call for the full release of the files.
While speaking to reporters, Trump addressed the resurfacing images connected to Clinton and made clear he was displeased by their release.
“I don’t like the pictures of Bill Clinton being shown. I don’t like the pictures of other people being shown. I think it’s a terrible thing. I think Bill Clinton is a big boy. He can handle it,” Trump said.
Trump also warned that the documents could unfairly implicate individuals who crossed paths with Epstein long before his crimes were publicly known.
“But you probably have pictures being exposed of other people that innocently met Jeffrey Epstein years ago, many years ago,” he added.
The comments came as Clinton appeared in a batch of materials released Friday, including photos that quickly spread online despite lacking context about when or where they were taken. One image showed Clinton seated in a hot tub alongside a redacted figure.
Clinton, now 79, has consistently denied any wrongdoing related to Epstein.
A spokesperson previously stated that he had no knowledge of Epstein’s “terrible crimes.” Trump, for his part, has acknowledged knowing Epstein socially in the past but has said he severed ties well before Epstein’s arrest and has denied visiting Epstein’s private island.
