Klay Thompson should not answer the cheating rumors or other claims surrounding his reported split from Megan Thee Stallion, according to Tristan Thompson.
“Don’t say anything,” fellow basketball player Tristan advised during a recent appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay. “If you speak up, you give it more legs.”
The four-time NBA champion and the Grammy-winning rapper reportedly dated for nine months after beginning a relationship in July 2025. Following their breakup, Megan appeared to imply that Klay had been unfaithful, while another report alleged that he felt she was too “ghetto” for him.
Tristan said Klay would only keep the story alive by going back and forth with Meg.
“You had a relationship with someone, an artist. It didn’t work out,” he continued. “If she wants to say something, let her do whatever she wants to do.”
The NBA veteran has faced his own highly publicized breakup with Khloé Kardashian, with whom he shares daughter True and son Tatum. Tristan cheated on the reality star several times and even got another woman pregnant while trying to win her back.
“Honestly, as a man, keep your mouth quiet,” Tristan said. “Because I’ve never gone out there and defended myself,” later adding, “He wants to go fish and enjoy it, and as he should.”
Tristan then called for athletes in new celebrity relationships to protect the private moments.
“Our life is so public, some things should be left private if you can,” he said. “If everything in your life can be touched and messed around with, what do you have to yourself?”
