Trippie Redd has revealed how he and girlfriend Coi Leray rekindled their romance, and says they were dating for a while before going social media official.
“You know [I reached out and said I missed her]. [We were on the low for] a little while – we just been talking. That’s my boo,” he told TMZ.
The couple split five years ago and a heartbroken Redd named a song after he at the time, titled “Leray.”
“When you got with me, you were a genius/ Now without me you have to live life as an idiot,” he rapped.
Coi Leray addressed the track in an interview with No Jumper.
“At first, no, I didn’t like it. It was very like, what the f-ck because I always thought we really had something outside of the music, so I’m just like, damn. If you got something to say, let’s get together and you say that sh-t to my face,” she told Adam22.
Leray continued, “I felt like I’m being used for clickbait. He’ll sell out with or without me, but at that point I just felt like he coulda just called me, you coulda just hit me, DM’d whoever, emailed. You coulda got the message the f-ck out there because we’re very connected. You ain’t have to go ‘head and put me down like that in a song.”
