A Clark County judge delayed the Tupac Shakur murder trial as suspect, Duane “Keefe D” Davis has new legal representation.
Keefe D is accused of being involved in the 1996 drive-by shooting of West Coast rap legend Tupac Shakur. Yesterday, Judge Kierny ruled that the trial be delayed until November so defense attorney Arnold could better familiarize himself with the evidence in the case.
Keefe D returned to court today for the case involving 2Pac's murder and asked the judge to keep his bond payments a secret. Also, the judge moved the trial date to November 2024, to give Keefe D's new lawyer ample time to review the evidence.

His trial date was previously set for June 3, 2024. He has pleaded not guilty.
Keefe D’s attorneys have argued that his testimony was for entertainment and that there is not enough evidence to charge him with murder.
“It cannot be said that the proof is evident and the presumption great that Duane is guilty of first-degree murder for the death of Shakur,” his lawyers wrote. They added that, even though the later rapper’s killing in September 1996 is an “uncontested” fact, Davis’ “involvement in the shooting and the motivation for the shooting is less clear.”
