A $20 million sexual assault lawsuit filed against Trey Songz by a Jane Doe has been dismissed.

According to Rolling Stone, the anonymous accuser claimed the singer anally raped her at a party in March 2016. Jane Doe missed an Oct. 19, 2022, deadline to file a rebuttal to the singer’s claim that the statute of limitations on her allegations had expired.

During a hearing on Tuesday, the accuser’s attorney failed to attend court so the judge was forced to grant the Songz’s request that the case be rejected without leave to amend.

“The court finds (Neverson’s) argument persuasive, and plaintiff was required to present argument and facts to show that the pleading defect can be cured. Because plaintiff did not file an opposition, plaintiff has not met her burden. The court finds the action to be time-barred,” Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Shirley K. Watkins wrote in her decision obtained by Rolling Stone.
