Former Florida State wide receiver Travis Rudolph was found not guilty on all counts more than two years after being charged in connection with a shooting in Palm Beach County.
The former NFL star pleaded not guilty to the first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder charges, citing self-defense. Ring camera footage of the night in question shows Rudolph being physically assaulted by his then-girlfriend, Dominique Jones.
Jones texted her brother to come and “shoot his sh-t up,” after getting into an argument with him. She discovered he had been seeing other people and was angry…even though she was still married to another man.
Four men later showed up at Rudolph’s doorstep to confront him, things turned violent, leading to Rudolph firing off a semi-automatic rifle. One man lost his life that night.
“It means everything man, I finally got my freedom back. I can get back to my life,” Rudolph told reporters.
