Tory Lanez’s attorney says the rapper isn’t doing so hot in prison and that he wants to go to state prison.
New attorney Ronda Renee Dixon sat down on the Legal Affairs and Trials With Meghann Cuniff show where she spoke about a recent visit to see her client.
“His eyes were black. He was totally desponden. He told me he wanted to go to state prison. I said, ‘You want to go to state prison? Why?’ He said, ‘At least I’ll be able to go out in the yard and talk to people.’ That upset me. I don’t think he’s guilty,” Dixon said.
The attorney added, “Merely because he is well known, the Sheriff has decided that Mr. Peterson is of such great threat that he must be confined in the same manner as those convicted of serial rape charges and murder.”
Lanez is due to be sentenced next month and prosecutors have asked the judge to give him at least 13 years behind bars. Lanez still denies shooting rapper Megan Thee Stallion.
