Tory Lanez has filed an ethics complaint to the State Bar of California against his former attorney who represented him in the Megan Thee Stallion shooting case, alleging she has ties to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation.
Roc Nation manages Megan Thee Stallion, so any ties could potentially be a conflict of interest.
Lanez claims Shawn Holley deserted him and cites Hulu’s “Reasonable Doubt” series (which is based on Holley’s life).
According to Lanez, Megan’s “Savage (Remix)” which featured Beyonce was featured in season 2 of the show, and Holley’s daughter Nayanna, has allegedly sung backup for Beyoncé in the past.
The rapper says he paid her as much as $300,000 to represent him and that she left him high and dry just five days after his guilty verdict. She says Holley stopped fighting for him after he refused to accept a plea deal…and he thinks she was secretly working on Roc Nation’s behalf.
Holley alleged the rapper accused her of bribery, causing her to withdraw but Lanez denies the allegations.
The attorney issued a statement to TMZ.
“Mr. Peterson brought these meritless claims to the State Bar over a year ago and they were summarily rejected and the matter was promptly closed. His actions to publicize this failed effort are likely tied to the appeal of his criminal conviction, for which I wish him well,” she told the outlet.
Lanez wants his money back and for her to be disciplined by the Bar.
