Tory Lanez, who is currently serving a 10-year prison sentence following the 2019 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion, is using his time behind bars wisely.
The singer announced on Adin Ross’ Kick livestream he has already earned his high school diploma (G.E.D.) in prison and is enrolling in college this Fall.
“A n-gga just graduated high school, enrolled in college. Never thought I’d do that. But I’m taking this moment and I’m taking advantage over everything that’s good,” he said.

He added, “I’m a f-cking high school drop out that just graduated high school. That sh-t matters to me. So, it’s the small things that just have me feeling good about life right now.”
Lanez, real name Daystar Peterson, was sentenced in August to 10 years in prison after being convicted of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, having a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.
He is currently serving his time at North Kern State Prison in Delano, California, where multiple inmates have been murdered over the past year.
