Too $hort Apologizes After Saying He’d Attend Diddy’s Welcome-Home Party

Too $hort is walking back his comments about attending a Diddy welcome-home party, saying he did not fully understand the extent of the abuse allegations when he spoke.

The Oakland rapper said his phone lit up quickly after his remarks on The TMZ Podcast began circulating.

“I want to thank all the people that called me yesterday. Text me, hit me up about this TMZ Puff Daddy thing,” he said. “I was a little insensitive with my words.”

Too $hort previously said he would attend a party for Sean “Diddy” Combs after his release from federal prison. He now says he knew about the hotel surveillance video showing Diddy brutally attacking Cassie Ventura, but was unaware of how many women had accused the music mogul of abuse.

“I really didn’t know the full extent of the case,” he continued. “I did not know that there were a lot of women who had claimed that they had been abused by Puff Daddy and how it affected them.”

Too $hort said he spent time reading more about the allegations and reconsidering his comments.

“I do not condone abuse in any kind of way. I want to say I’m sorry to the people that were hurt by the words that I said,” said Too $hort, going on to clarify that by “party,” he meant the celebrity gatherings he had attended over the years, not sexual events described during Diddy’s federal trial.

“If anything I said hurt anybody, I really do regret it,” Too $hort added.
